McDonald's has become a partner of the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games ©2010-2013 McDonald'sNovember 27 - Sochi 2014 has welcomed McDonald's as a Paralympic partner to mark 100 days to go to next year's Winter Games.

The deal will see the worldwide Olympic partner and fast food giant working to "strengthen and develop" the Paralympic Movement in Russia, while promoting rehabilitation of people with disabilities through sports.

"McDonald's has long been known for its charitable and social projects," Sochi 2014 President and chief executive Dmitry Chernyshenko said.

"Our goals coincide.

"This includes promotion of Olympic and Paralympic values and an active lifestyle as well as the development of children's sport.

"The experience gained by the company over many years in supporting the Games will make a great contribution to the first ever Games without barriers in Russia."

During the Sochi 2014 Paralympics, two McDonald's restaurants - built specifically for the Games - will serve athletes in both the Coastal Olympic Village and in the Main Media Centre, while a further five will be situated outside Games venues.

The best McDonald's employees in Russia, which the company is calling its "hospitality champions", will be selected to provide services for the Paralympic guests and competitors.

"Support by McDonald's of people with disabilities, and their provision with every opportunity, together with the creation of barrier-free environment are integral parts of McDonald's philosophy," Khamzat Khasbulatov, President of McDonald's for Russia and Eastern Europe, added.
