Patrick Wilson started the day off with a solid 9-1 victory in the BS3 classification before recording two more wins to secure his place in tomorrow's final.

He was joined by teammate Jacob Thomas, who dominated his three fixtures without conceding a single point.

The young Welshmen won his matches 17-0, 22-0 and 17-0 again to set up the all British final between himself and Wilson.

In the BS4 classification just one win was needed for Kieran Steer and Jamie McCowan to provide an all British final with Steer edging his Brazilian opponent by five points to three and McCowan scoring 12 points to his opponents zero.

The two friends and teammates met earlier in the week where McCowan beat his Scottish counterpart 3-1.

Meanwhile, the gold medal rush continued in the pool for Britain with all four swimmers - Amy Marren, Hannah Russell, Matt Wylie and Alice Tai - winning gold in the 50 metres freestyle in their respective classifications.

Russell added her sixth gold of the competition with a win in the S9 50m butterfly event, while Marren earned gold medal number 16 for Britain with victory in the S10 classification of the same event.

There was also success for Britain's cerebral palsy football side which made its way to the semi-finals of the competition after two confident wins.

Following their day off yesterday, the British team looked to pick up where they had left off on Monday (November 25) when they had won their opening game 5-1.

The team got off to a great start, scoring four times in the first half of their morning match to put themselves in a great position to progress to the quarter-finals.

A goalless second half ensured that they reached the knockout stage of the tournament, where they would meet Brazil's Governo de Para.

The young British players really stepped up the heat in this second game, scoring 22 times to secure their place in tomorrow's semi-final.

There was not such good news, however, for the goalball team that met São Paulo in the quarter-finals despite yesterdays agonising defeat.

A tricky start saw the team fall 4-1 behind during the opening minutes of the first half but a spirited comeback ensured the British youngsters led 7-6 coming in for half time.

A crucial penalty miss during the second half then spurred on the Brazilian side and the British team finally slumped to an 11-8 defeat after a flurry of late goals.

Despite the defeat player Adam Knott says the team has taken a lot from the Brazil trip.

"It's been amazing, we've got to know a lot more people around the GB team - meeting the football guys, the boccia players and the swimmers - it's been a great experience and I don't really want it to end," he said.

Tomorrow will see the conclusion of the Paralimpíadas Escolares with the final medals being decided in each of the 10 sports being competed in Brazil.
