September 23 - Katarina Johnson-Thompson is the new face of the Nissan Micra superminiBritish heptathlon star Katarina Johnson-Thompson is set to appear in a series of television idents across some of Sky Living's most popular daily programmes after she was announced as the new Nissan Micra's ambassador.

The London 2012 Olympian and current European under-23 champion will feature in the branding alongside the new Nissan Micra supermini from today as part of the car manufacturer's sponsorship of Sky Living's HD Drama, which includes programme's such as Grey's Anatomy, Supernatural, Elementary and upcoming series Dracula and The Blacklist.

The idents will see Johnson-Thompson going about her daily routine with her "Go Get It" attitude oblivious to the drama going on around her, in a 12-month sponsorship agreement that also includes a series of advertising placements across Sky Living online.

"Last summer was an incredible experience for me and I'm proud of my heptathlon achievements so far including a personal best and fifth place finish at the World Championships last month," said the 20-year-old, who won gold at last year's World Junior Championships.

"I am delighted to be the face of the new Micra and its powerful 'Go Get It' attitude."

Nissan became an Official Automotive Partner to Team GB and ParalympicsGB in April of this year to support British athletes in the build up to Rio 2016, in an agreement that also sees the Japanese firm provide vehicles to the British Olympic Association (BOA) and the British Paralympic Association (BPA).

In February 2012, Nissan was unveiled as a Tier One sponsor and the automotive partner of the Rio 2016 Games, supplying more than 4,500 vehicles to support the Olympic and Paralympic events.
