Sascha Klein and Patrick HausdingJuly 21 - German duo Sascha Klein and Patrick Hausding won the men's 10-metre synchro diving title as they relegated Russians Victor Minibaev and Artem Chesakov, and China's Olympic champions Yuan Cao and Yanquan Zhang to second and third respectively at the International Aquatics Federation (FINA) World Championships in Barcelona today.

The German Beijing 2008 silver medallists brought to an end China's run of three consecutive titles winning the final with 461.46 points to Russia's 445.95 and China's 445.56.

"It's an awesome sensation to be world champion," Hausding said.

"I dreamt all my life of this moment and we finally achieved it.

"That is something that nobody can take from us.

"Throughout the final, we had very positive feelings and things went well until the final dive.

"This is a great motivation to continue until the next Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio."

In the only other medal event of the day, it was another podium finish for the Russian's as three-time Olympic champion Svetlana Romashina and her new partner Svetlana Kolesnichenko went one better than Minibaev and Chesakov to secure gold in the synchronised swimming technical duet.

As well as being Romashina's second gold of the World Championships, the 97.300-point win also represented Russia's tenth world title in the event since their breakthrough victory in 1998.

Chinese twins Jiang Tingting and Jiang Wenwen, winners of the London 2012 team competition silver medal, finished in second place with 94.900 points, while home athletes Ona Carbonell and Margalida Crespí took the bronze with 93.800.
