RussiawinUniversiade Kazan2013.ru1July 16 - Russia's men and South Korea's women have taken the respective hockey titles at the Kazan 2013 Universiade.

The men's final saw the hosts defeat France 2-1, as Pavel Plesetckii gave Russia the lead with a field goal in the 18th minute before France drew level thanks to Gaspard Baumgarten's open play strike just before half time.

The match was settled in the 41st minute by Anton Kornilov to see the host nation's men add a hockey gold to the silver won by the women the previous day.

In the bronze medal match, Germany took the prize with a 4-3 win over Malaysia, thanks to a winning goal from Jonas Fuerste in the 70th minute.

South Korea's women handed hosts Russia a 5-0 defeat to take the gold medal of the tournament.

The Asian giants stormed to a 3-0 halftime lead thanks to goals from Park Seunga, and London 2012 Olympians Han Hye-Lyoung and Kim Jong-Eun.

Kim scored a second goal of the game shortly after the break from open play before Cho Eun Ji netted a penalty stroke to complete the win.

Japan claimed the bronze medal with a 3-1 win over Belarus.

The host nation is currently at the top of the overall medals table, following by China and Japan in third and second place respectively.

The 2013 Universiade concludes tomorrow.
