July 1 - USA SYNC DIVING INAgon Swimwear is the new official national team supplier for USA national synchronised swimming teams, it has been announced today.


Agon Swimwear, whose President and chief executive Rafael Escalas competed for Spain in the 1500 metres freestyle at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow and four years later at Los Angeles 1984, is donating practice suits to four of the five US national teams.

The first of these teams are set to compete at the World University Games in Kazan which begin this Friday (July 5) until July 9.

The 10 strong US squad includes Mary Killman and Mariya Koroleva, who competed at London 2012 in the duet competition.

US swimmers will also be wearing the new swimsuits at the US Open in Irving, Texas from July 9 to 13 and at the Union Americana De Natacion (UANA) Pan American Synchronised Swimming Championships in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from August 15-22, where the US Junior and 13-15 national teams will be competing.

The new swimwear apparel will incorporate the US national team colours, logo and mascot.

USA Synchro executive director, Julie Fabsik-Swarts said: "The leadership at Agon heard our need for assistance and stepped up to help our national team athletes.

"I am so appreciative of their support.

"The athletes competing on the world stage will truly look like a national team."
