June 24 - US SynchroA new National Development Training Centre has been created by USA Synchro at the Riverside Aquatics Centre in California, which will see junior and age teams use the facility.


The US Junior team are currently training at the Complex until July 31, while the 13 to 15 Age Group squad will use the facility from July 1 to 31.

"We are very excited to partner with the City of Riverside," said said USA Synchro executive director Julie Fabsik-Swarts.

"Athletes from across the country will be spending two months each summer learning from the best as they develop on the Road to the Rio Olympics and the 2016 Games," 

"The Riverside Sports Commission, the City of Riverside, Cal Baptist University and various other institutions were critical in bringing our athletes to California.

"We thank them for their hard work in supporting the youth of the synchronized swimming community."

Located at Riverside City College, the Complex contains a 65 metre all deep swimming pool and a diving tower with platforms from three to ten metres.

It also has a moveable bulkhead that facilitates up to three simultaneous activities.

"Riverside is going to be a great place for our Junior and 13-15 age group national teams to train this summer and prepare for the UANA (Union Americana de Natacion) Pan American Championships," said USA Synchro high performance director Myriam Glez.

"The city and its partners have worked very hard to provide us with the best training conditions."

The eSynchro Age Group Synchronised Swimming Championships are currently takig place at the complex and due to finish next Saturday (June 29).

Nearly 1,000 athletes aged 11 to 19 are competing in four events; solo, duo, trio and team, at the Championships, the largest synchronised swimming competition in the world.
