Robinson made her Paralympic debut last summer in London, finishing seventh in the women's F46, and the 27-year-old McSweeney appeared at the last World Championships in 2011 on home turf in Christchurch, finishing eighth in the men's F44 event.

"We are excited about the selection of these two athletes to attend the World Champs in Lyon," said PNZ high performance director Malcolm Humm.

"Competing at international events such as these are vital on our road to Rio [2016]."

Athletics New Zealand High Performance Director, Scott Goodman added: "Both Holly and Rory are experienced international athletes and we are expecting top performances from both of them on their path to the Rio 2016 Paralympics"

The 2013 IPC World Athletics Championships are due to take place at Lyon's Stade de Parilly from July 19-28.
