The French men's top seeds, featuring world number two Stephane Houdet with Nicolas Peifer and Frederic Cattaneo, defeated the Netherlands 2-0 in the final to retain their crown and claim their fifth title in Antalya.

The 2010 winners Sweden took the bronze medal, defeating a Japanese side featuring world number one Shingo Kunieda, 2-0.

In World Group II, Australia secured their place in the premier group for next year, whilst Greece were relegated to the second group after they were defeated by the US in the relegation play-off.

In the women's event, the Netherlands continued their dominance even in the absence of the legendary Esther Vergeer, who went a decade undefeated before retiring earlier this year, to claim their 26th women's World Group title with a win over Britain.

With a team boasting the top two players in the world, Aniek Van Koot and Jiske Griffioen defeated British Paralympic bronze medallist Lucy Shuker and Jordanne Whiley, as Japan took bronze with a win over Germany.

Britain did take a title in Turkey however, as the formidable Alfie Hewett and partner Lauren Jones saw off Spain in the deciding doubles tie which went all the way to a tie-break.

The second seeds from Holland took bronze after defeating Russia in the third-placed play-off.

And in the quad event, the team of Nick Taylor and David Wagner from the United States took gold in a repeat of the London 2012 quad doubles final against Israel, as Italy took bronze with a win over Japan.

The BNP Paribas World Team Cup is an annual team event which began in 1985- which is seen as the wheelchair tennis equivalent of the Davis Cup and Fed Cup- and has been held in 16 different countries with an average of 300 participants.
