len logo 150 150April 2 - Laszlo Szakadati has stepped down as executive director of LEN, the European governing body for aquatic sports affiliated to the International Aquatics Federation (FINA), after ten years in the position on what the organisation calls a "mutual agreement".

Szakadati began working for the continental federation in 1999 as an office manager at its former headquarters in Rome before being promoted to the role of director in 2003.

Some sources suggest that the move coincides with plans to take LEN back to Italy from its current location in Luxembourg.

"LEN wish to pay tribute to the work and leadership Szakadati gave to LEN over that period and will now seek to appoint a new executive director in due course," read a statement.

Both LEN and Szakadati declined to comment further.
