Gwangjuplan2April 13 - Gwangju 2015 have completed an extensive draft of their meticulous 34,000-page Venue Operation Plan (VOP) and Action Plan for the Summer Universiade, which takes place in the South Korean city in a little over two years time.

Since February last year, Gwangju 2015 has been establishing the VOP in 68 areas, including supplementary venues, with specific focus on the city's 45,000-seater 2002 FIFA World Cup stadium, the Guus Hiddink Stadium.

The Action Plan has been established to include in-depth preparation detail, whereas the Master Plan outlines basic details comprehensively.

The functional VOP will allow for more of the advanced groundwork to be established in the Competition Procedure Manual (CPM).

Gwangju have been hailed for their advanced planning procedures, and have been frequently seen as a benchmark in terms of preparation by the organising committees of the  Universiades that follow 2015; Almaty and Taipei, who will host the Summer and Winter Universiades respectively in 2017.
