Taylor Chace with Vancouver 2010 gold medalApril 7 - Taylor Chace, a member of the United States sledge hockey team that won the Paralympic gold medals at Vancouver 2010, has been arrested after allegedly slashing tyres on a parked car.

The 26-year-old has been charged with a misdemeanour count of criminal mischief following the incident in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, which allegedly happened last Wednesday (April 3).

Taylor was arrested after a resident reported seeing a man kneel next to a parked vehicle, then slash the two rear tyres, the Portsmouth Herald reported.

A description of the man was given to police, as well as a tip that he may have been driving a Toyota truck with a Boston Bruins sticker on it.

The caller told police she had a former boyfriend who was "angry how things ended between them", the Portsmouth Herald reported.

Chace was arrested later.

He took up sledge hockey three years later and was a member of the US team that won bronze medals at Turin 2006.

Chace was voted the International Paralympic Committee's Athlete of the Month award for December 2012 after scoring the winning goal in the gold-medal game of the World Sledge Hockey Challenge against Canada.
