Major Dhyan Chand National StadiumMarch 9 - New Delhi has been named as the host of two of the International Hockey Federation's (FIH) major upcoming events, with the men's tournaments of both the Hero World League Finals and Hero Junior World Cup set to take place in the Indian capital.

The Junior World Cup, which will run from December 6 to 15 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium - venue for the 2010 men's World Cup and the Delhi 2010 Commonwealth Games tournament - is held once every four years and will feature the top 16 men's junior teams vying for the title.

As well as hosts India, Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Canada, England, Spain, Egypt, France, Germany, Korea, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa are confirmed for the event.

Meanwhile, the inaugural Hero Hockey World League Finals are scheduled for January 10 until 18 2014, with the participating teams to be named after the semi-final tournaments taking place in the Netherland and Malaysia in June.

"I can think of no better venue for our inaugural Hockey World League final tournament than India," said FIH President Leandro Negre.

"With this event we are bringing the future of hockey to a country that has one of the richest traditions in our sport. It is sure to be an action packed tournament."

New Delhi-based motorcycle and scooter manufacturer Hero MotoCorp has also been confirmed as the title sponsor of both events.

"The Junior World Cup is one of the gems in our event calendar," Negre added.

"We get the see the future of hockey on display.

"When looking through past athletes that have competed in the Junior World Cup, it reads as a who's who in international hockey."
