The three-day reporting event will see participants attending plenary sessions, at which NOC representatives will talk about the main services to be provided to their teams at the Games and Sochi 2014 will take the visitors on a tour of the coastal and mountain cluster venues.

"A record number of National Olympic Committee representatives are in Sochi these days, and they are already in full swing preparing their delegations for participation in the major four-yearly sports competitions," President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Alexander Zhukov, said.

"During the visit to the Olympic venues, the NOC delegation heads will see with their own eyes where the athletes will be performing, and how the Games in Sochi have already taken form.

"The best proof of this is the series of test events which are currently being successfully carried out by the Games organisers.

"We are pleased that the seminar delegates will have the opportunity to learn more about the upcoming Olympics and Sochi, which promises to warmly greet all the teams with real Russian hospitality next year."


Meanwhile, Sochi 2014 President and chief executive Dmitry Chernyshenko explained how the Chef de Mission seminar will be used to ensure the needs of the NOCs and athletes are met during the Winter Olympics, which run from February 7 to 23.

"The Olympic Winter Games in Sochi will have both a record number of participants and competitions," he said.

"Six-thousand Olympic athletes and team members from nearly 80 countries and seven types of Olympic sports will come and compete for 98 sets of medals.

"Roughly three billion television viewers around the world will tune in to watch the Games in Sochi.

"As organisers, it is important that the city meets its guests at the highest possible level, and representatives of the Organising Committee will give a detailed account to National Olympic Committee heads about how we are going to achieve this."
