Great Britain defeated Germany 76-65 in the final of last year's tournament in Israel, and the two will face-off again in Frankfurt in the group stages of this year's Championships, which is due to take place between June 28 and July 7.

However, the Germans defeated Great Britain the last time the two sides faced each other, in the opening game of the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Alongside Britain and Germany in Group A are three-time champions Italy, Holland, Belgium and Switzerland.

"We've got a good draw as we know all the teams in the group well including Germany and having them in the group means we can get revenge from the Paralympics." said Great Britain player, Terry Bywater.

"The Europeans will give us chance to bounce back from London and show everyone we are a winning team."

"Being reigning champions' means that we are the team everyone wants to beat.

"If we could win back to back Gold's that would be something very special." he added.

Meanwhile, in Group B, the most successful team in the tournament's history, seven-time winners France, will take on 2011 bronze medallists Spain, as well as Turkey, Israel, Sweden and Poland.

In the women's tournament, hosts Germany, who have won the last six tournaments in succession, reaching the final in every tournament, will face France, Spain and Israel in Group A.

The 2011 bronze medallists Great Britain take on runners-up for the last six tournaments, Holland, who defeated them resoundingly at London 2012.

GB player Laurie Williams said: "The Dutch game will be tough as it always is but I think we'll have a comfortable crossover regardless and stand a good chance of making the final."

"The work we have been doing at camps since London has been looking really good and I definitely believe we'll perform the best we ever have."
