José Luis Campo, the  Argentinean who is the IPC's representative on the IOC Coordination Commission, IPC chief executive Xavier Gonzalez and Paralympic Games integration director Thanos Kostopoulos all took part in the meeting.

Andrew Parsons, the Brazilian Paralympic Committee President as well as an IPC Governing Board member, was also in attendance.

The group discussed accessibility, Paralympic plans and integrations, and test events.

There were also updates given on the construction of the athletes' village and sporting venues for the event.

"Overall, the IPC is pleased with Rio 2016's progress and a lot of subjects were covered during the day-long executive project review," said Campo.

"The Organising Committee is under no illusions that the eyes of the world will switch to Rio following the conclusion of this summer's Paralympic Games [in London] and they must be prepared to face even greater levels of scrutiny than before."

A Paralympic working group is also set to meet the Brazilian Government to discuss plans for the Games.

The IPC Academy has also presented two workshops aimed at delivering a meaningful Paralympic legacy for Rio as well as understanding IPC and Paralympic athlete requirements.

The Rio 2016 Paralympics are due to take place from September 7 to 18.
