Glasgow 2014_logoNovember 22 - Glasgow 2014 has appointed Jan Scott as its head of human resoruces as it begins to gear up for the task of employing more than a 1,000 people to help deliver the Commonwealth Games. 


Scott, who worked for Motorola for 14 years, joins the Organising Committee after a short spell at Erskine, a a non-profit organisation caring for ex-service personnel. 

She will oversee the recently launched a major recruitment campaign and will work exclusively with Search Consultancy to attract people with the skills and experience to deliver the Games.

"I am delighted to be joining at this very exciting time for Glasgow 2014. In preparation for the Games, the Organising Committee will expand considerably to 1,044 staff and I look forward to playing my part in delivering an experienced and capable workforce that will make Glasgow 2014 an outstanding Games." said Scott, a graduate of Strathclyde University and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Glasgow 2014's Director of Finance and Corporate Services, Ian Reid her appointment.

"It was essential that we recruited someone of Jan's experience to pull together the best team possible to make the Games a resounding success for the city and Scotland," he said.

"Between now and the Games we, with the support of Search Consultancy, will be recruiting across a wide variety of roles and disciplines. Under Jan's direction we will put a quality workforce in place that meets the needs of the Games."
