Sports Technology has been named as the official provider of large video screens and audio services at Glasgow 2014October 17 - Sports Technology, which worked on the audio visual facilities at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics, will be the official provider of large video screens and audio services at next year's Commonwealth Games, Glasgow 2014 announced today.

The firm, which has also previously worked on Wimbledon Championships, UK Athletics events, the Formula One Grand Prix, the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games and will be providing its services at the Sochi 2014 Winter Games, will supply, install and manage the public address systems at both competition and non-competition facilities at Glasgow 2014, including the Athletes' Village.

Sports Technology is equally best known for its work on the BBC's The Voice television show, providing the iconic visual backdrops in the studio, and for managing a number of international live music tours, including Rod Stewart's sell-out shows at Scotland's SSE Hydro.

Ty Speer, deputy chief executive of Glasgow 2014, welcomed the company to the "Glasgow 2014 sponsor family".

"By working closely with them [Sports Technology], I am confident we will be able to deliver a great spectator experience throughout our venues, as well as in areas at the heart of the Games such as the Athletes' Village," he added.

"Sports Technology has a strong pedigree in delivering at large sports events, including previous Olympic and Commonwealth Games and I am sure they will play a key role in supporting the great atmosphere we are looking forward to at Games time."

Sports Technology now joins the likes of Ticketmaster, Trespass and Riedel Communications as Glasgow 2014 official Commonwealth Games providers.

"Following on from our hugely successful involvement in the London 2012 Olympics and current projects around the Sochi Games, this contract clearly shows the real legacy of opportunities that exist around major sports events," Sports Technology's director Damian Rowe said.

"Our roots have developed across numerous Olympic, Commonwealth and similar events.
