The 27-year-old is married to Britain's former number one male 400m hurdles hurdler Chris Rawlinson and earlier this year applied for a British passport.

It has now been claimed by The Herald Sun that she is in discussions with UK Athletics to see whether she would be interested in switching her allegiance.

Rawlinson spends most of her time in Loughborough with her husband and three-year-old son, Cornelis, and is reportedly disillusioned with Australia after she was dropped by most of her sponsors following a long period of injury which included missing the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the World Championships in Berlin last year.

Rawlinson last competed for Australia at the 2007 World Championships in Osaka, when she regained the 400m hurdles title she had last won at Paris in 2003.

Earlier this year, Rawlinson told The Herald Sun: "I can't afford to stay and keep getting hurt.

"If I don't have a good year ... I lost all my Australian sponsors this year so if it wasn't for [my major sponsor] Adidas I would be out looking for a job.

"We really need a good racing season because I have been injured for so long now."
