Tilly England_July_21August 18 - Tilly England, a 13-year-old from Worcestershire, has been named officially as the face of Community Games, which have been inspired by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The Community Games are designed to bring families and communities together as they take part in sporting and cultural activities.

This year more than 1,000 free events will take place.

England (pictured above) has starred in a video promoting the Community Games which has been a hit on both YouTube and Facebook.

She was recently given the opportunity to broadcast alongside BBC anchorman, Nick Owen, at one of the Community Games events in Birmingham and admits she is delighted to be involved.

"I feel very privileged to have had the opportunity to take part in the Community Games viral," said England, who is a pupil at St John's Church of England Middle School.

"All my friends and family have watched the video and are immensely proud of me.

"Taking part in the viral has really cemented my ambition to go on to become a broadcast journalist.

"In the meantime, I can't wait to attend a Community Games event in my area."

The Community Games are the brainchild of Legacy Trust UK and are delivered by the YMCA and The County Sports Partnership Network (CSPN).

Lee Mason, the chief executive of the CSPN, said: "We are delighted Tilly England is on board fronting our Community Games campaign.

"The Community Games are about uniting families and communities and we really hope as many people participate in the games as possible.

"We want to see people embracing the Olympics this summer in the heart of their very own communities.

"We have a variety of Community Games taking place during the school holidays, some are being held in community halls, others in streets and the range of activities on offer vary from egg and spoon races right through to rock climbing."
