EHR Euro_2012_Serbia_logoJuly 9 - The official logo of the Women's European Handball Federation (EHF) Euro 2012 in Serbia has been unveiled.


Organisers of the Women's EHF revealed the logo for the event, which sees 16 of the best national teams in the world compete for the European title and will run from December 4 until 16.

The logo was devised by Sasa Jelicic, the Serbian graphic designer who also coordinated the Men's EHF Euro 2012 logo.

The Serbian Handball Federation was awarded with the organisation of the Women's EHF European Championship on in June after the Netherlands withdrew from the flagship national event.

The Eastern European country was up against Croatia, Denmark, FYR Macedonia, Iceland, Norway, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Sweden who also showed an interest in hosting the Games.

In January this year, the nation organised a successful men's EHF European Championship and with the arenas and infrastructure already in place, Serbia is the ideal location.

The Serbian cities of Belgrade, Nis, Vrsac and Novi Sad will once again play host to Europe's elite players.

Serbia will face the defending champions Norway along with Germany, Hungary, Romania, Montenegro, Russia, France, FYR Macedonia, Sweden, Czech Republic, Croatia, Denmark, Ukraine, Spain and Iceland in the quest for the title.
