Charlotte Kerwood_11_JuneJune 12 - Charlotte Kerwood has been selected by the British Olympic Association (BOA) as the 11th and final athlete to represent Team GB in shooting at London 2012.

The 25-year-old Sussex-based shooter (pictured top), who be competing in her second Olympic Games after making her debut at Beijing in 2008, will participate in the women's trap event at the famous Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich this summer.

The triple Commonwealth Games gold medallist admitted that she was ecstatic to learn that she will now be going to London 2012.

"I am really delighted to be selected to compete for Team GB at the London 2012 Olympics," said Kerwood.

"I have been working very hard to achieve this and I'm looking forward to shooting well at the Games.

"It will be extra special to compete at home, with the support of Team GB fans behind us."

Kerwood joins 10 other shooters in the Team GB squad.

They are Elena Allen, Richard Brickell (pictured above), Richard Faulds, Georgina Geikie, Jonathan Hammond, James Huckle, Ed Ling, Jen McIntosh, Rory Warlow and Peter Wilson.

The 11 athletes were formally nominated to the BOA for Team GB selection by British Shooting.

"I'm very pleased to complete the selection of the shooting squad for the London 2012 Olympics with the addition of Charlotte Kerwood," said Team GB shooting team leader Phil Scanlan.

"Charlotte brings with her a good deal of experience from Commonwealth and Olympic Games, and will be aiming to produce her best on the Olympic stage this summer."

The addition of Kerwood brings the total number of athletes officially selected for Team GB for London 2012 to 183 across 15 sport disciplines.
