Conceptum_Sport_logoOctober 1 - Specialised logistics company Conceptum Sport has opened new offices in Rio de Janeiro to try to take advantage of the city hosting the 2016 Olympics and Paralympics.

The German firm, which transports sports equipment around the world for a number of National Olympic Committees (NOCs) and governing bodies, were involved in the World Military Games which were held in Rio.

"The logistics for sports equipment is a complex process requiring specialized knowledge, especially of the international freight industry," said Sebastian Stahl, the managing director of Conceptum Sport Logistics.

Conceptum Sport Logistics was able to secure a respected athlete and logistics expert, Marion Klintworth, as its on-site branch manager in Rio de Janeiro with more than 20 years of experience in logistics industry.

The team will be supporting several NOCs rom Central and South America during this month's Pan American Games in Guadalajara.

"We try to ensure the most seamless support possible," said Stahl.

"Although this takes quite a bit of effort, it is well worth it, and it allows the athletes to prepare for the competition without added stress."
