Golden_Gloves_champions_2011May 1 - Ten new champions were crowned at the Indiana Convention Center, Indianapolis, as the 2011 United States National Golden Gloves Championships concluded.


In the flyweight divisions, Santos Vasquez won the first title of the night before Louie Byrd took a Championship with victory over Stephon Young.

Tramaine Williams won in the bantamweight, whilst in the lightweight division Erick DeLeon took his first national title with victory over New Yorker Louis Cruz.

Michael Reed, who won silver at the 2010 USA Boxing National Championships, took the light welterweight championships against George Rincon of Texas.

Arthur Trujillo clinched another welterweight crown whilst Jesse Hart defeated Daquan Arnett in the middleweight, with Hart beating the same opponent in the Golden Gloves final.

Caleb Plant took his first major national championship against Jerry Odom, with Michael Hunter continued his winning streak, taking a fifth successive stoppage victory against Robert Jekabson.

And Lenroy Thompson was also among the winners with a victory over Iowa's Donovan Dennis.
