Qatar_HandballDecember 26 - Qatar is claiming a first by delivering its bid book to host the men's World Handball Championships in 2015 on an iPad.

Qatar will be the first to use this technology as in integral part of their bid, officials claim.

By accessing the bid book on an iPad, Qatar's Event Concept for the Championship can be shown in a whole new light, they claim.

The Qatar 2015 bid book on the iPad can provide interactive information about the bid that's accessible and easily portable no matter a person's location.

Using the iPad is proven to be the best new way to collaborate, deliver and display presentations.

Combining this new technology with the creativity of Qatar, key decision makers are now just a tap away from being able to access supporting photos, charts, tables and videos that will highlight what the Championship will be like in Qatar, officials said.

From viewing the venues and hotels, to learning about the city of Doha and seeing proposed sites, the iPad makes Qatar's vision for 2015 interactive and engaging.

Furthermore, using an iPad saves on paper versus having to print numerous copies of bid documents and it is easy to update and revise.

After the bidding process, the iPads can be used for other daily activities, making iPad bid books even more environmentally attractive.

Qatar Handball Association's President Mr. Ahmend Mohammed Al-Shaabi said "Combining Qatar's constant search for innovation and the International Handball Federation's goals for the future of Handball, the World Championship in 2015 will be setting new standards in technology of Handball and eco-friendly solutions for other federations to follow."

Qatar is bidding against France, Norway and Poland for the right to host the Championships.

The International Handball Federation's ruling Council are due to choose the host at a meeting in Malmö, on January 27, 2011.
