Fairyland Restaurant has been named the official master caterer for the Solomon Islands 2023 Pacific Games.

Fairyland Restaurant will be in charge of planning, delivering and managing all catering services at the main athlete dining hall.

This will see the group provide 140,000 meals for athletes, team officials, technical officials, broadcasters and catering workforce.

The deal was made official today (June 8) a contract was signed between the two parties.

"Fairyland Restaurant’s mission is to create delicious food that leads to memorable experiences for all our clients, and our mission is to provide great culinary delights, support and care to all those whom we serve," Malissa Lam said on behalf of the company.

"We are grateful for the trust bestowed upon us to be the Games Master Catering Service provider – we are confident we can and will deliver.

"We will also be working closely with both local and international suppliers to meet operational standards required by the Games."

The partnership means the restaurant will also be responsible for collecting ingredients that meets the operational standards from local and international suppliers.

The group are on the look out for staff, with more than 400 people set to play a role in the Pacific Games.

Pacific Games Organising Committee Board chair Martin Rara praised Fairyland Restaurant after the deal was signed.

"GOC [Games Organising Committee] applaud you [Fairyland Restaurant] for undertaking one of the most important roles in the Sol2023 Pacific Games," Rara said.

"We are confident you will help us deliver the best Pacific Games Solomon Islands can deliver, this year in Honiara."

The 2023 Pacific Games is scheduled to be held from November 19 to December 2.
