The International School Sport Federation (ISF) President Laurent Petrynka has spoken of his pride in the continuing tradition of the organisation’s beach volleyball events.

The World School Beach Volleyball Championship 2023 is currently taking place in Bat Yam, on Israel's Mediterranean coast until May 23.

"We are proud to continue this long-standing tradition of gathering some of the greatest beach volleyball nations together under the mantle of school sport," said Petrynka.

The Championship features two age categories, under-15 and under-18, with more than 18 countries from all over the world.

The competition is being held across six different courts at Sunset Beach, Bat Yam.

In addition to the competitions, a diverse range of other events has been set up including a cultural discovery, a nation night and an educational programme with ISF Academy.

The event is being livestreamed through the ISF's website.

Founded in 1972 and recognised by the International Olympic Committee, the ISF acts as an umbrella organisation and governing body for national school sport organisations around the world.
