Oralov described the boxers as the "heroes of our days," after they returned home with four gold medals and a silver.

Sanzhar Tashkenbay beat Georgia’s Sakhil Alakhverdovi to win gold at minimumweight to add to his 2022 Asian title in the same division.

In the bantamweight category, Makhmud Sabyrkhan improved on his world silver two years ago, defeating Uzbekistan’s Oybek Jurayev in front of his home crowd.

Light-middleweight Aslanbek Shymbergenov also overcame host nation opposition as he beat Saidjamshid Jafarov.

Nurbek Oralbay defeated China’s Tuohetaerbieke Tanglatihan in the light-heavyweight category to also win gold.

Dulat Bekbauov added a silver in the welterweight category to complete a successful competition for Kazakhstan.

"Yesterday, Kazakhstan celebrated the unofficial day of sports," Oralov added.

"We must prepare and support our athletes." 

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also sent his congratulations.

"I watched the final fights of the World Boxing Championship with great interest," Tokayev said in a social media message.

"I sincerely congratulate our boxers, who showed a bright example of the will to win and true patriotism!" 

A strong contingent from Kazakhstan is expected to compete at the Asian Games in Hangzhou which are scheduled to begin on September 23.

Kazakhstan have competed under their own colours since the 1996 Centennial Olympics in Atlanta where light-heavyweight Vasily Zhirov won the nation’s first boxing gold.

They won at least one boxing gold at every Olympics up to Rio 2016.

Kazakhstan sent nine boxers to the Tokyo Olympics where 2021 IBA flyweight World Championship gold medallist Saken Bibossinov and super-heavyweight Kamshybek Kunkabayev both won bronze.

The nation is also set to host the 2024 IBA Women's World Championships in Astana.
