A special visit involving Saudi Arabia's muaythai head took place during the ongoing International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) World Championships in Bangkok.

Prince Fahad Bin Mansour bin Saad Bin Saud Al Saud, the President of the Saudi Muaythai Federation, was greeted by officials including IFMA President Sakchye Tapsuwan.

Stephan Fox, the President of United Through Sports and general secretary of IFMA, was among other officials at the meeting at the Thai capital's Lumpinee Boxing Stadium.

A presentation on muaythai as a cultural artform, competition sport and self-defence tool was made.

It comes with muaythai set to feature at the World Combat Games in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh in October.

Tapsuwan congratulated Prince Fahad for his leadership of the Saudi federation which he said had developed the sport strongly in the country and "gone beyond expectations".

The World Championships are due to conclude tomorrow at Bangkok's Central World Convention Hall.
