Pacific Games organisers have called for bids to provide a "world-class" sound system for the showpiece Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the 2023 Pacific Games in the Solomon Islands.

Those wishing to tender are asked to register with Solomon Islands 2023 to receive full details of the specifications for the events.

"Sol 2023 seeks an experienced sound contractor with a proven track record in special event sound ceremonies to deliver audio equipment, production and personnel to support the Opening and Closing Ceremonies," Sol2023 Organising Committee chief executive Peter Stewart said in a letter of invitation.

"Bidding will be conducted through the lowest responsive price competitive tendering procedure."

Games organisers have scheduled a pre-tender meeting for May 12.

The deadline for submission of tenders has been set for 2pm local time on Monday May 29.

Bids will be opened at Games headquarters after that date and no late submissions will be accepted.

The Games are set to open on November 19.

A total of 24 nations are expected to take part across 24 sports.

The Games are scheduled to run until December 2.
