The Mauritius Olympic Committee (MOC) has held sports administration courses for officials in the country on Rodrigues and the main island.

The three-day course on Rodrigues was led by MOC Olympic Solidarity programme directors Sanjaye Goboodun and Jacques Malie and finance officer Yohan Toocaram, and attended by 20 students from various sporting fields, including coaches and officials.

MOC first vice-president Richard Papie was also in attendance.

It covered topics including the essentials of good governance for sports organisations, and the value and principles of ethical sport.

Rodrigues is approximately 350 miles east of Mauritius, but is a constituent island of the Republic.

A three-day workshop was then held on the main island of Mauritius at the MOC headquarters, again led by Goboodun and Malie, and attended by 20 participants.

This course covered the Olympic Movement, management and leadership in sports, promoting the Olympic values and sports, managing resources and strategic planning.

The MOC was recognised by the International Olympic Committee in 1972, and has competed at every Summer edition of the Olympics since Los Angeles 2028.

Bruno Julie is its only medallist at the Games to date with a men's bantamweight boxing bronze at Beijing 2008.
