After finishing the group stages top with an unbeaten record Switzerland went straight through to the semi-final stage where they took on hosts Sweden at the Goransson Arena in Sandviken.

Switzerland scored doubles on all four of the ends they scored shots, and this helped them to an 8-4 win over Sweden, a result that extends their winning streak at the tournament to 34 matches, a run that dates back to the 2021 edition.

In the final Switzerland will take on Norway, after they overcame Canada 8-5 in their semi-final, helped by scores of three shots in ends four and nine.

Earlier in the day’s qualification games, which decided the semi-final opponents of the automatic qualifiers, Canada beat Japan 6-4.

A tight contest was level at 4-4 after the regulation ten ends, with the Canadians picking up a double in the extra end to seal the win.

The other qualification game was a low-scoring and tight affair, with Sweden edging past Italy 4-3, scoring the winning shot in the tenth and final end of regulation play.

The medal matches are due to take place tomorrow, with Canada facing Sweden for bronze, before Norway take on Switzerland for gold.
