The European bronze medallist defeated Kosovan Laura Fazliu in the women's under-63-kilograms bout to secure her country's first title at the Olympic Sports Palace in the Georgian capital.

World number 11 Fazliu was unable to upset her opponent and eventually committed three shido penalties and was disqualified.

Australian Katharina Haecker faced Israel's Inbal Shemesh in the first bronze medal-match of the division where the former was quickly victorious with an ippon-seoi-nage.

Elisavet Teltsidou then won her second Grand Slam gold in the women's under-70kg tournament via a disqualification for Dutchwoman Sanne van Dijke.

Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist van Dijke had won the previous two bouts between the pair but her ill discipline cost her while Italian Marina Esposito and Giovanna Scoccimarro of Germany joined the podium in joint-third place.

Erdenebayar Batzaya spoiled the party in Tbilisi as he defeated home Olympic and world champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili in the men's under-73kg quarter-final.

The Mongolian then went all the way to the final where he defeated Uzbekistan's Obidkhon Nomonov.

Shavdatuashvili was still able to come through the repechage round to win a bronze medal alongside Spain's Salvador Cases Roca.

Wachid Borchashvili of Austria claimed the final gold medal of the day, in the men's under-81kg class.

He defeated Abylaikhan Zhubanazar of Kazakhstan in the sudden death golden score round with a low seoi-otoshi.

Prior to that, Timo Cavelius of Germany and Moldovan Victor Sterpu claimed the division's bronze medals.

Competition is set to conclude tomorrow in Tbilisi with gold medals to be won in the women's under and over-78kg categories, the men's under-90kg class, and the men's under and over 100kg divisions.
