Grotian dominated the women's 7.5 kilometres sprint and 10km pursuit in the junior age bracket.

Despite picking up four shooting penalties in the pursuit race at the National Ski Center, the European champion at senior level won by more than one minute with her time of 30min 00.3sec, with France's Jeanne Richard taking silver in 31:13.4.

She also missed two targets in the sprint, but atoned for that with a superb skiing performance to triumph in 20:49.0, with Richard again finishing second in 31:13.4.

It was a hat-trick of individual silver medals for Richard, who clocked 43:12.2 in the 12.5km individual, but was beaten by Slovenia's Kaja Zorč, who clocked 42:37.3.

Her French team was also second in the women's 4x6km relay with their time of 1 hour 13min 41.8sec, losing out to the 1:29:49.3 from Germany's Selina Kastl, Johanna Puff, Marlene Fichtner and Grotian in the mixed 4x6km relay.

Germany's team of Puff, Grotian, Benjamin Menz and Hans Köllner also triumphed in 1:06:19.4 to beat France by 25.8sec in the mixed 4x6km relay.

On the men's side, Benjamin Menz edged out Norway's Einar Hedegart by seven seconds with his time of 43:12.3 to take 15km individual gold.

Campbell Wright of New Zealand shot clean in the 10km sprint to claim victory in 23:38.9, becoming the first athlete from his country to win an IBU medal.

Martin Nevland of Norway led a Norwegian one-two-three in the 12.5km pursuit in 33:07.6, completed by Hedegart and Trym Gerhardsen.

All three were joined by 15kn individual bronze medallist Isak Frey in the successful 4x7.5km relay, in which they clocked 1:19:05.9 to beat Germany by 8.9sec.

Germany won the four women's medals in the youth category.

Julia Kink clocked 32:23.8 to win the 10km individual by 32:23.8 by nearly one minute ahead of Switzerland's Alessia Laager.

However, she had to settle for silver in the 6km sprint and 7.5km pursuit at the expense of Julia Tannheimer.

Tannheimer missed one target in both shooting rounds of the 6km sprint but recovered to finish in 17:45.0, which was 26.2 clear of Kink.

She did likewise in all four rounds of the 7.5km pursuit, but her time of 24:38.4 still gave her a 1:43.7 winning margin over Kink.

Tannheimer, Kink and Lea Zimmermann eased to 3x6km relay gold in 56:24.2, beating second-placed Italy by 1:46.5.

Norway's Kasper Kalkenberg won the men's 7.5km sprint in 19:44.4 and his compatriot Sivert Gerhardsen the 10km pursuit in 27:25.9, while Slovakia's Jakub Borguľa earned victory in the 12.5km individual in 35:29.2 and Czech Republic in the 3x7.5km relay in 1:06:51.7.

The mixed 4x6km relay title went to Norway in 1:11:51.1, helping them to comfortably finish second on the medals table with five golds.
