Brazil's Sports Ministry confirmed the nation will bid to host the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, with the winner set to be decided next year.

The South American nation will have to compete with a joint bid by Belgium, The Netherlands and Germany and another bid by South Africa.

The United States are also considering a bid, but could delay it and make an attempt for the 2031 edition.

Ana Moser, the Sports Minister, told GE that they are working on the ability to host the tournament.

"We are starting to deal with this now," said Moser.

"We have until March to show our interest and until May to work on it.

"We are talking to the Brazilian soccer confederation and (potential) host cities."

Both Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo Mayors expressed their willingness to host the final of the tournament.

If successful, this will be the third FIFA World Cup in Brazil, after staging the 1950 and 2014 men's editions.

The 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup is scheduled to be hosted in New Zealand and Australia from July 20 to August 20.
