Mexican Olympic Committee (MOC) President Marijose Alcalá visited the new Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) alongside Olympic athletes to view the tribute given to the Olympics.

With the Central American and Caribbean Games happening in the city of San Salvador in El Salvador, along with the Pan American Games taking place in Santiago, Chile this year, competitors will seek glory as they prepare for the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

The tour lasted for four hours, as the visitors were able to see common and service areas, and bathroom decoration with references to Mexican popular culture, from entertainment to cultural and sports themes.

AIFA was opened on March 21 2022, currently having 14 national and four international destinations.

Alcalá was highly appreciative of the dedicated area honouring the Olympics, where she recognised the effort put in to design it by the Secretary of National Defence.

"We want to tell you that the MOC is a great ally of yours, because they keep us in mind and they love and respect the Olympic Movement," Alcalá, the first female President of the NOC, said.

"We are going to pay with the same currency, with love, respect and gratitude, because you strengthen us."

The Olympic Committee is set to celebrate its 100th year in 2024, with Alcalá encouraging athletes to visit AIFA and promote the airport.
