It was the third Four Continents tile for the American pair, who are also the world bronze medallists.

Canadians Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Nikolaj Sorensen took the silver medal while their compatriots Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Lagha claimed bronze.

Chock and Bates performed to "Souffrance" and "Les Tectoniques", getting  total score of 220.81 points to take the gold medal.

They oozed class, with beautiful lifts and intricate footwork, on their way to the title.  

"It's an absolute dream and honor (sic)," Chock said.

"This is becoming one of our favorite competitions.

"Just that energy between all the competitors is always fun at Four Continents and it was wonderful to perform here in the US, in Colorado Springs, the home crowd made it very special.

"I think it (the performance) is a testament to our training.

"We've been putting in a lot of work since the Grand Prix Final.

"We had December and January to really hone in on our programs and train extra hard to make sure we were ready for altitude before we left for the US Championships.

"And so that work just came out on the ice today." 

Performing to "Mexican Flamenco", Fournier Beaudry and Soerensen scored set a personal best of 127.80 points in free dance and 214.08 in total for the silver medal.

Lajoie and Lagha completed the last place on  the podium, scoring 200.00 pints overall.

They managed to get 120.96 for the free dance, skating to "Nureyev".
