The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the men’s and women’s player of the month nominees for January.

Players from four countries feature across the men’s and women’s shortlist, with New Zealand’s Devon Conway the first of the men’s nominees.

Conway, who previously won the player of the month award in June 2021, scored just under 500 runs and made centuries in both Tests and one-day internationals against Pakistan and India.

The second nominee Shubman Gill of India also enjoyed a profitable month, scoring 567 runs, including 208 in a one-day international against New Zealand, one of three centuries he hit in January.

The third men’s nominee is fellow Indian Mohammed Siraj, who took 14 wickets in five one-day internationals during January, averaging 10.57.

On the women’s side the first nominee is Australian Phoebe Litchfield, who top scored with an unbeaten 78 in a one-day international against Pakistan as she won the Player of the Match award.

Fellow Australian Beth Mooney, who picked up the Player of the Series award during the same series, is the second nominee, with her contribution including hitting 133 in the final one-day international.

The third nominee is England’s Grace Scrivens, who captained her country to the Under-19 Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup, where they were defeated in the final by India.

Scrivens scored half-centuries in wins against Rwanda, Ireland and the West Indies with the bat, while also taking nine wickets with the ball at an average of 7.11.

The shortlist is voted on by members of the ICC Voting Academy, who hold a 90 per cent share of the vote, with fans holding a 10 per cent share of the vote.

The winners are due to be announced on Monday (March 13).
