Norwegian men asserted their dominance by claiming all three podium spots at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) Cross-Country World Cup in Toblach.

Beijing 2022 silver medallist Paal Golberg of Norway won the men's 10 kilometres individual title in 20min 46.4sec.

The 32-year-old was 0.3 sec faster than compatriot Simen Hegstad Krueger.

Yesterday's sprint champion Johannes Høsflot Klæbo claimed the bronze medal in 20:49.2

For Golberg, this was the first World Cup win in a freestyle distance race.

"It was good for sure, my first victory in a skate race, so it is a big milestone for me, but I felt like Bambi on ice," Golberg said.

"The course is fine but the conditions had changed from the women's race (earlier on Saturday).

"We had quite a hard and compact snow and it was tough to get the balance but I was the one who managed it best.

"Last weekend I got a fourth-place, which was my best (distance) skate result ever. I knew I had a chance today with the fast conditions and I'm really happy that I'm able to do it."

Among women, Ebba Andersson became the first Swedish woman skier to bag three consecutive distance races when she took the 10km title.

The two-time Olympic medallist crossed the line in 23:24.7 for the gold medal.

Jessie Diggins of the United States bagged silver 23:38 while two-time Olympic champion Ingvild Flugstad Østberg of Norway secured bronze in 23:57.9.
