Cycling Ireland has invited athletes to express an interest in being included as part of a longlist for the 2023 European Games.

BMX freestyle park and mountain bike cross-country events are the scheduled cycling disciplines as part of the multi-sport event, due to be held in Krakow, Poland, from June 21 to July 2.

The competitions will also serve as the 2023 European Cycling Union European Championships in both events.

Cycling Ireland will nominate an initial long list of athletes for selection before the Olympic Federation of Ireland picks the final team.

Interested riders are invited to review the OFI’s nomination criteria and if they believe they are eligible can submit an expression of interest in featuring on the longlist.

This is only available to elite male and female riders, with riders having until February 28 to submit their expressions of interest.

Riders can submit applications by email to [email protected]

At the previous edition of the European Games, held in Minsk, Belarus, in 2019, Ireland sent a 65-strong team, winning seven medals, and placing 31st on the medal table.
