Canadian Marion Thenault enjoyed home success in the women’s aerials event at the International Ski and Snowboard Federation Freestyle World Cup in Le Relais.

Thenault, part of the Canadian team that won bronze medals in the mixed team event at Beijing 2022, claimed victory on home snow, scoring 96.23 points.

Ashley Caldwell of the United States finished second with 92.00 points, with the podium completed by Ukraine’s Anastasiya Novosad with 86.71 points.

In the overall World Cup standings Thenault leads with 180 points, with Australia’s Danielle Scott in second place on 132 and Novosad in third on 92.

In the men’s aerials World Cup at the same venue, victory went to Quinn Dehlinger of the United States.

Dehlinger scored 122.62 points as he stood on a World Cup podium for the first time, becoming the first male skier from his country to win an Aerials World Cup since Chris Lillis in February 2020.  

Noe Roth of Switzerland was second with 121.24 points, with third place going to Ukraine’s Dmytro Kotovskyi with 120.81 points.

In the overall World Cup standings Roth leads with 160 points, with Switzerland’s Pirmin Werner in second on 122 and Dehlinger third on 107.

A second men’s and women’s World Cup aerials event is scheduled to take place at Le Relais tomorrow.
