A six-module course that aims to teach sport administrators has been launched by the Lesotho National Olympic Committee (LNOC).

The LNOC's Advanced Sports Management Course is in its fourth edition and was opened earlier this month.

Due to run until October this year, the diploma course is expected to cover six modules.

Among those include "Organising an Olympic Sport Organisation", "Managing Strategically", "Managing Human Resources", "Managing Marketing", "Managing Finances" and "Organising a Major Sport Event".

A total of 22 participants have enrolled in the course after being recruited from National Federations as well as the LNOC Athletes' Commission and Executive Board.

This month has also seen the LNOC’s Olympic Academy host a refresher course for teachers trained on the International Olympic Committee's Olympic Values Education Progress Toolkit.

The session aimed to support teachers who also serve as district coordinators on the implementations of the OVEP Toolkit within selected schools throughout Lesotho from January to March.

It was also a follow up to the training that was offered to 148 teachers from February to March last year.

Lesotho has sent athletes to all but one Olympics since it made its debut at Munich 1972, but has yet to pick up a single medal.
