The Global Esports Federation (GEF) has indicated that it expects to announce hosts for the 2027 and 2028 editions of the Global Esports Games in September 2023.

Submissions of "expression of interest" from potential host cities will be invited shortly after the GEF Board agrees to a timeline for the procedure for appointing future host cities.

Meanwhile the Singapore Esports Association (SGEA) has signed an agreement with the Turkish Esports Federation (TESFED) and the Saudi Esports Federation (SEF) which is set to host the Games in December 2023.

The trio have been described by the GEF as a "cohort of pioneer hosts," while the agreement has been hailed as a "tangible" symbol of GEF's commitment to a #WorldConnected.

The agreement signed by SGEA President Chong Geng Ng, TESFED President Alper Özdemir, and SEF President Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Sultan Al Saud, sets out "a blueprint for collaboration and cooperation," and undertakes to offer advice to future host cities of the Games.
