The 28-year-old reached the summit of the women's under-67-kilograms category after climbing four places and dethroning world bronze medallist Magda Wiet-Hénin of France.

"Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, before and after," Al-Sadeq wrote on Instagram.

"My lead to the international ranking as the first Arab woman in the history of taekwondo.

"Words cannot describe your great efforts, a coach of gold Faris Al Assaf.

"Thank you, Jordan Taekwondo Federation, for the continued support."

She now sits on 400.88 points, an increase from the 303.00 that she had in the December 2022 rankings, with a four-place rise seen.

Wiet-Hénin trails by 18.94 points as she has 381.94 to her name in the world kyorugi ranking.

However, Wiet-Hénin still remains in pole position in the Olympic kyorugi ranking with 395.94 points while Al-Sadeq has 384.88.

The latter has also gone up by four spots in the table.

Jordan Taekwondo Federation secretary Faisal Abdullat said that achievements of Al-Sadeq and others are the result of comprehensive institutional work.

Al-Sadeq's biggest triumph came in 2018 when she won the gold medal in her category at the Asian Games in Jakarta.

She has also claimed Asian Championships gold at Chuncheon 2022 and Dakar 2022 in addition to a Grand Prix triumph in Riyadh last year.

The Saudi Arabian victory made her the first Jordanian woman to win gold at the Grand Prix series.
