This month's International University Sports Federation (FISU) Winter World University Games in Lake Placid is set to be accompanied by a festival for almost the full duration of the event, with dates set from January 13 to 22.

The Lake Placid 2023 Festival will be on a nightly basis on Main Street in the village which will be closed to vehicular traffic.

Live music will feature each night with Mix Master Mike and Marco Benevento headlining as they take to the stage on the January 21 and 22, respectively, while Mercy Union will open the festivities on January 13.

Concerts are due start outside on Main Street following medal ceremonies and then move inside for "Late Night Sessions" at the Smoke Signals restaurant with an array of DJs.

Delicate Steve, DJ Logic, DJ Matt Hagen, Echo Plum, Jared Hart, Jim Pillars of Creation and The Comb Down make up the indoor line-up.

Annie in the Water, Dentist, Garcia Peoples x Ethan Covey, Jonathan Francis, Maddy ONeal and Yawn Mower will be on the main stage earlier on.

In addition to the music, activities will be available while performers will also be on the scene.

Fans will be able to see ice sculptors, stilt walkers, a laser biathlon exhibition, snowball cornhole tournaments, a curling exhibition and more.

"Special opportunities" for shopping and dining will also be available while fans can enjoy warming igloos and fire pits.

The Festival is scheduled to be finished off with a drone show on January 22, taking off from Mirror Lake Public Beach to celebrate the completion of the Games.

Lake Placid 2023 is set to run alongside the Festival and begin a day earlier, spanning from January 12 to 22.

A total of 1,443 athletes have registered for the Games and 86 events across 12 sports are due to be held in Lake Placid, Saranac Lake, Wilmington, North Creek, Canton and Potsdam.
