The Asian University Sports Federation (AUSF) has held its latest General Assembly on the 30th anniversary year of the organisation, with it being held virtually due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

There were 52 delegates from 28 countries at the General Assembly.

Guests included International University Sports Federation (FISU) Acting President Leonz Eder, FISU secretary general Eric Saintrond, European University Sports Association (EUSA) President Adam Roczek, African University Sports Federation President Nomsa Mahlangu, FISU Oceania President David Schmude and FISU America secretary general America Alvarado.

It was opened by AUSF President Yanqing Xue, who welcomed the participants and thanked stakeholders for being understanding over the cancellation of events on the continent in 2022 due to the pandemic.

AUSF secretary general Kenny Chow said in an annual report that he appreciated the efforts of the Executive Committee members and staff to put together the anniversary celebrations including the "30 Years Asian University Sports Movement".

Roczek greeted participants too, reflecting on the cooperation between AUSF and EUSA.

Elections are to take place at the next in-person meeting, with the AUSF Executive Committee having its mandate extended in the mean time.
