Beijing 2022 two-woman Olympic champion Laura Nolte of Germany bagged her first International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup victory in monobob in Lake Placid today.

Nolte clocked 1min 47sec to take gold, which was also her first win in the solo discipline since the Lillehammer 2016 Youth Olympic Games victory.

World Champion Kaillie Humphries of the United States finished in 1:63 for the silver medal.

The bronze medal went to Lisa Buckwitz, also of Germany, after clocking 1:87.

Humphries is leading the overall rankings with 635 points while Nolte with 585 points is second.  

Canadian Bianca Ribi, who finished sixth in Lake Placid is third on 569.

Germany dominated the day in the men’s two-man event as well by grabbing the gold and silver medals.

Beijing 2022 silver medallist Johannes Lochner teamed up with Fleischhauer Georg to take the top prize in 1:51.88.

Compatriots and another pair of Olympic champions Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schüller cruised to silver 0.32sec later.

The Swiss pair of Vogt Michael and Michel Sandro bagged the bronze in 1:52.26.

The IBSF World Cup in Lake Placid is scheduled to continue tomorrow with the two-woman and four-man bobsleigh events.
