The third annual "Terre de Jeux 2024" Forum involving 500 local authorities, National Federations and Paris 2024 partners has taken place in Montpellier.

Terre de Jeux 2024 - Land of the 2024 Games - is a label for local authorities or sporting movement organisations wishing to support the imminent Olympics and Paralympics that will be held in France.

The Forum, in which Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet was among the participants, hosted the first edition of the "Terre de Jeux 2024” Awards, with 24 projects run by accredited organisations earning prizes.

The awards marked organisations’ commitment to the Games and also highlighted the Paris 2024-related sports projects which are being implemented on a daily basis.

More than 250 submissions were received on five themes, with the 24 winners being selected by a jury.

The Forum was also an opportunity to look ahead to 2023 and a way of engaging local communities with the major programmes put in place by Paris 2024.

These included ticket sales for the Olympic Games dedicated to "Terre de Jeux 2024" communities, participation of the "Terre de Jeux 2024" communities in Olympic and Paralympic Week and Olympic Day and Paralympic Day 2023.

Also highlighted was the opportunity to become an Olympic and Paralympic Games volunteer, with 2,024 volunteers due to be selected from among the "Terre de Jeux 2024" communities.

Three years after the launch of the supportive Terre de Jeux 2024 scheme more than 31 million French people live in a certified community.

The Terre de Jeux 2024 label has so far been given to 3,191 local authorities, 190 organisations from the sports movement and 100 embassies.
