Olympic and world champion Francesco Friedrich of Germany won his second International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF) World Cup gold this season in the two-man bobsleigh.

Along with Thorsten Margis, the Germans crossed the line in 1min 35.82 sec for gold in Park City.

Britain’s Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence bagged silver, with the duo finishing 0.26sec later.

Bronze medal went to Michael Vogt and Sandro Michel of Switzerland in 1:36.14.

Meanwhile, Trinidad & Tobago made their World Cup debut with Axel Brown and Marcano Andre finishing 13th at the Utah Olympic Park.

Friedrich, with 450 points, is leading the overall standings with Hall and Vogt second and third on 420 and 392 points, respectively.  

European champion Kim Kalicki of Germany also made it two out of two as she combined with Leonie Fiebig to claim gold in the two-woman bobsleigh event.

The duo clocked a time of 1:37.37.

Germany won the silver medal as well with Olympic Champion Laura Nolte and Lena Neunecker finishing 0.23sec behind.

The hosts also had reasons to rejoice as Americans Kaillie Humphries and Jasmine Jones finished in third place 0.32sec behind.

Kalicki is the overall women’s leader with 450 points ahead of Nolte on 402 and Humphries on 400.

The four-man bobsleigh at Park City saw Germans claim all three medals.

The team of Friedrich Francesco, Bauer Candy, Margis Thorsten and Schueller Alexander won gold in 1:33.62.

Lochner Johannes, Rasp Christian, Bruckert Erec and Fleischhauer Georg got silver after finishing 0.23sec later while Hafer Christoph, Sommer Matthias, Schneider Tobias and Salzer Michael bagged bronze in 1:33.86.
