Germany’s Katharina Althaus won the women’s normal hill individual title at the International Ski Federation Ski Jumping World Cup in Lillehammer, topping the rankings in both rounds of jumps.

Althaus, the individual normal hill silver medallist at both the Pyeongchang 2018 and Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, jumped 99.0 and 96.5 metres in rounds one and two respectively, on her way to accumulating 131.6 and 128.5 points.

Althaus finished with a total of 260.1 points, with Austria’s Eva Pinkelnig claiming silver 9.9 points adrift.

Pinkelnig jumped 95.0 and 97.0 metres respectively, earning her 124.3 and 125.9 points, on her way to a final tally of 250.2 points.

Fellow Austrian Marita Kramer, who missed the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics after a positive test for coronavirus, completed the podium with 242.3 points.

Kramer jumped 93.0 and 97.0 metres in her two jumps, earning her 118.4 and 123.9 points respectively.

Pinkelnig still leads the overall women’s Ski Jumping World Cup standings, having won the two previous rounds in Wisla, Poland, last month on 240 points.

Althaus sits second on 190 points, with Kramer in third on 180.

A large hill individual competition is due to take place at the same venue tomorrow.
